CONCILIATION AND ARBITRATION COVER
The client will be represented by all these proceedings by a qualified consultant or qualified attorneys/advocates appointed for this purpose by Nexim on behalf of the client.
The managing of casual staff can be costly for a client, therefore Nexim offers full human resource / industrial relations functions which entails:
All related written procedures;
Disciplinary enquiries / hearings;
CCMA cases;
Labour Court cases;
Negotiations with unions.
Furthermore, grievance and disciplinary procedures as outlined in the Labour Relations Act are adhered to hence Nexim takes responsibility for these procedures in respect of our employees with no obligations on the client.
OUTSOURCING
A client has the flexibility to adjust its staff requirements at any time to accommodate its specific needs; increased productivity and employee stability; the client does not have to bear the financial burden of carrying its employ and extra staff when not required; all administrative functions relating to the running and maintaining of a workforce becomes the responsibility of Nexim including but not confined to good timekeeping, maintaining discipline, holding hearings and ensuring that a proper work ethic is upheld.
Saving of costs with regard to recruiting new employees, advertising, administration and time; job security becomes greater as employees can be transferred where projects are completed; as the contract staff on site become employees of Nexim, we ensure and guarantee that all levies imposed by the Labour Relations Act become our responsibility.
These include payments and registration of UIF, WC, levies and the necessary taxes such as SITE and PAYE which are deducted from the employees’ wages, therefore, the client is under no legal obligation to pay or administer any benefits in respect a staff member; the need for the client to establish a weekly payroll, payroll software or licensing costs and make-up wages is eliminated, therefore cost saving; the clients is invoiced weekly by Nexim for actual hours worked only by the contracted staff.
If contracted staff are not unionised, a client’s time is not spent negotiating with the union representatives and work attendance of contract staff is not dependent on trade union attitudes and agreements; should contract staff be unionised, in which case the members of a union have to be 10% of more of the employees, Nexim then deals directly with the union and members of the union involved; labour and legal issues are dealt with by Nexim therefore saving time and money for the client; taking into account the advantages, the use of contact labour enables a client to effect saving on its indirect wage bill.
CREDENTIALSBefore sending employees to the client for a final interview, the following will apply to a new employee:
formal qualifications which refers to the applicant’s school finishing certificate, a completed university degree or similar academic achievement;
prior learning which includes qualifications from short contracts, exposure to tasks of the job, having done or assisted with a similar job or on the job training;
applicant will have completed a recognised trade of apprenticeship contract;
passed a qualified trade test if required;
capacity to acquire, within a reasonable time, the ability to do the job which refers to analysing the job facets and the qualities needed by the applicant to perform the job;
relevant experience;
copies of the original trade documents which if required, will be forwarded to the client for inspection prior to the applicant commencing work;
Artisans will be equipped with the necessary tools of their trade.
